Fiscal Responsibility - Iowa's Budget
Stop out-of-control spending! The Iowa legislature has raised the state budget 17.4% (928 MILLION DOLLARS!) in the past two years. If we keep spending at this pace, the tax increases needed to cover our irresponsible spending will be enormous. Click here for more information.

Right to Work
Employees should have the right to work where they want to work without being forced to pay Union fees or dues. Erosion of this fundamental right will further cripple Iowa's economy and must be stopped.

Education
Kids in Iowa deserve the best education we can give them. We will improve our kids' education by keeping control in the hands of parents, teachers, and local leaders - not by transferring control to bureaucrats in Des Moines. Both my mother and step-mother were elementary school teachers. My wife, Jenny, is a speech pathologist for AEA 267 and works at North Cedar and Cedar Heights schools. I care deeply about education!

Family
Iowa's greatest resource is its families. They are the foundation of our society and our economy; therefore, family values need to be strengthened, not undermined, by governmental policies.

Health Care
Even though we have an outstanding health care system, there is room for improvement. Health care needs to be affordable, portable, consumer-controlled, and focused on wellness. Government-run health care is not the answer.
